A Marvel Rivals season is a fixed-length content cycle that ships a new headline hero, at least one new map, a themed Battle Pass, and a competitive ranked window. Every season also has a mid-season update — labelled “X.5” — that drops a second hero roughly halfway through the cycle, plus new costume bundles and balance changes.

Three things reset between seasons. Competitive rank gets a partial wipe — high-ranked players drop several tiers and replay placement matches at the start of the new season. The Battle Pass is a hard reset: any unclaimed tiers from the previous season are gone the moment the next one starts. Themed event currencies and time-limited cosmetics also expire on the rollover.

What carries over: hero unlocks, your collection of skins and costumes, friend lists, account progression, and end-of-season rewards (nameplates, exclusive costumes) based on the highest rank you hit during the cycle.
